Silas is a Tl’kemtsin man who is mapping out his pathway to securing a safe future for his community. Working with the All Roads team, Silas is developing an action plan to meet his goals and the next steps include obtaining his driver’s and security licences.
Silas has experience volunteering with community events and has been inspired to carve a career path in security and safety. He says he isn’t interested in joining the RCMP but would like to work alongside them to support his community. He started out with a specific career goal in mind and is taking the necessary steps to achieve his dream.
Additionally, Silas has been developing his community service experiences with a “Captain” position at a local Healing Village for youth aging out of care. He spends his days greeting guests and supporting elders & residents to make cultural connections.
He enjoys community work and further exploring his cultural side. It was with great pride that he shared how he is growing into a local resource for cultural sharing, including smudging (prayer), drumming, and singing. During a recent visit, he shared a beautiful song with the CFBC staff which was moving and powerful – thank you, Silas!
Silas advice:
“All Roads is a great support; they do their best to help you get to the next step of your journey.”
